De Montfort University - ItactI Consortium
De Montfort University, which leads the project, has an excellent track record in the field of mechatronic research having participated in seven major European projects and numerous UK funded research projects. De Montfort will be undertaking the software development and integration of the subsystems through a mechatronic approach. Additionally, through their subcontractor, the Royal National Institute of the Blind Vocational College, Loughborough UK, they will be making major contribution to the formulation of understanding of system requirements based on a blind person's requirement and in the evaluation of the prototypes during development of the Tactile Interface Peripheral.
